  8.  AB    OBJECTIVE. To prevent the spread of HIV among young adults through a
  9.        comprehensive HIV/AIDS education and empowerment program led by members
  10.        of fraternities and sororities. METHODS. This program included: 1)
  11.        Development of training modules; 2) Training of peer educators; 3) KAP
  12.        Surveys; 4) Development of information materials; 5) On campus
  13.        workshops, condom and brochure distribution and other outreach projects.
  14.        RESULTS. The program gave rise to a broader sex education program that
  15.        included discussions on sexual identity, roles and responsibilities.
  16.        CONCLUSIONS. This program was able to bridge the gap between knowledge
  17.        and behavioral changes by utilizing peer support systems. Peer pressure
  18.        also assured the maintenance of safer sex behaviors.
